Apply to become a DreamSF Fellow!

This program is welcome to everyone who meets the minimum qualifications. You can apply regardless of your immigration status.

The DreamSF Fellowship is a leadership and professional development program for immigrant students and recent graduates who seek to gain professional experience with social justice change-makers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Fellows are paired with local immigrant-serving community organizations and gain hands-on experience in direct services, advocacy, and immigration law careers while growing a network of mentors. Fellows receive professional mentorship and attend weekly enrichment seminars to support their growth as leaders and community advocates.


You can apply if you are:

  • over 18

  • live in the Bay Area

  • available 20 hours a week

  • available from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm every Friday

You also need to go to a 2 or 4-year college. You must either:

  • Be currently enrolled

  • Planning to enroll

  • Or have recently graduated

You must also:

  • Commit to a six-month or year-long fellowship

  • Be invested in working with and supporting immigrant communities.

  • Have a strong connection to one’s Bay Area immigrant community.

  • Be fluent in a second language

What you'll need
  • 4 essays about your professional goals, your connection to immigrant communities, and an example of your personal growth and development. Specific prompts listed in the application.

  • Resume, upload a copy of your resume (or CV) to the application. Your school's career center can help you write a resume.

How to submit your application:
Review the checklist below and submit a complete application by the deadline.
  • Check you have completed and proofread all essay responses.

  • Upload your resume or CV in PDF format.

  • Indicate if you are committed to a six-month or year-long track at the time of the application.

  • Provide a complete list of all possible time commitments for the next six months or year.

  • Verify that you are available on Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm weekly to attend enrichment seminars.

  • Verify that you can commit to working 20 hours a week Monday through Friday between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.​
